The Allard Family

The greatest thing about being a photographer is when people from your past get in touch and want you to photograph their families. Honestly, there is no great honour than being able to do that.  When I got the email from Jen, I could hardly believe what I was reading- they wanted family photos with their kids AND grandkids!  Time is so interesting... I realize that I have obviously grown up, matured, gotten married, and have become a mother; but when I think back to the people from my childhood, it almost feels so distant that you encapsulate them as never aging, never changing... just a random thought ha ha.  When I was a kid, we all went to the same church, and Kelly & Kate graduated from the same school I did a few years ahead of me.  As time goes on, you lose touch, but it was so good seeing them and seeing how well time a treated them!  Kelly has two gorgeous little girls who are so fun, and interested in the world around them. 

This family really knows how to laugh, and how to love well. I feel like I say that all the time, but when I was with them I could just feel the authenticity of their love.  You can tell that Jen & Tom have really cultivated purposeful passion for one another, and it has spilled over into all who know them... but their kids especially.  I'm so grateful that I got to hang out with you all for the night, and catch up after all these years.  Thank you for trusting me in capturing your family!
